STATE OF THE SAM CARY ASSOCIATION BAR 2008

Dear Members and Friends of Sam Cary Bar Association:

Welcome to the Sam Cary Bar Association website. I am proud to serve as Sam Cary’s 2008 Board President and eager to further its commitment to upholding the administration of justice, securing proper legislation, and promoting professionalism, fellowship and harmony with the African-American legal community.

For over three decades, the Sam Cary Bar Association has provided information and counsel to the Denver metropolitan area. Recognizing our collective strengths underlying the Association’s reputation as a prolific community leader, this year, we will adopt the theme “Fostering Effective Community Leadership.” We will build upon our strengths and diverse skills to implement programs that increase community awareness, including partnering with our members to sponsor CLE and community outreach programs, helping to mentor our students, and partnering with other community leaders to promote favorable legislation and defeat initiatives intended to diminish decades of civil rights advancements.

Among other events, we will host our annual Gala in October to support our Endowment Fund. Since its creation in 1987, the Endowment Fund has awarded up to $12,000 annually in scholarships and special-need giving.

With your help, including your active participation on Sam Cary Committees, we will have a successful and fun year.
